Tranquility and isolation characterize the location of the "Quinta dos Valados"; nevertheless you can reach all important leisure and shopping facilities within short time:
Just 10 minutes away there is one of the biggest shopping centres of South Europe, the "Algarve-Shopping-Center". A big supermarket with 138 boutiques, 38 restaurants and small cafés invite you to stroll and shop. You can easily stay the whole day in this huge centre without getting bored.
Those who don't want to miss the southern flair of the Algarve when shopping should really visit the meat, fish and vegetable markets of Loulé (20 minutes by car) and Silves (25 minutes by car). Here the people still barter and trade, offer goods and sell live chickens in plastic bags for the dinner.
When choosing the restaurants we deliberately listed 4 restaurants with a good price-performance ratio, where not only the quality and price is good but you also get rich interesting dishes. This is not always the case in the Algarve.
Near the Villa, just 5 minutes away, there is the first gourmet restaurant, the "Veneza", with excellent wines, which you can also try can buy in it's own bodega. The cuisine is famous for its delicious crustaceans, which you can choose from a big basin.
The 2. restaurant nearby is in Paderne, the "Moiras Encantadas" (translation : enchanted Moors) and is an inside tip for gourmets. In the romatic atmosphere of a roman celler with round archs the chef serves you the most delicious national and international dishes. His art of cooking was awarded with the third place in a national competition.
In order to enjoy a sunset at the Algarve with a glas of red wine and fresh fish you don't have to drive very far. 25 minutes by car, there is the beach restaurant "Salgados" near Galé which serves very fresh fish.
Those who want to spend a really nice culinary evening in a stylish atmosphere should reserve a table in the restaurant "1650", in Caldas de Monchique. At midday, they serve small exclusive dishes on the spacious terrace below shady limes. If it's to hot at the beach you can visit the city Caldas: even at midday you can sit above in the Serra de Monchique, the highest point of the Algarve, and enjoy the pleasant and cool temperature.

The supply of doctor is there if need be: 2 German General Practitioners and a dentist are nearby; in emergencies doctors can reach the Villa in less than 15 minutes. There is an 24-hour emergency service.
