Villa IN THE ALGARVE
Nature
The Algarve is not only a paradise for those who love to swim and sunbathe but also for nature lovers and hiking enthusiasts.
Directly at the estate of the Quinta there are hidden sand paths lined by dry walls which lead through an untouched nature with cork-oaks, fig and almond trees.
Nearby, you will find cork-oaks and meadows interrupted by cultivated areas with orange trees. The whole year long, you can eat fresh oranges right from the trees.
In the rocky "Serra do Caldeirão" you will find an unpoilt and fascinating landscape: (max. 30 minutes by car)
Gentle hills with low bushes,
fertile valleys with cork-oaks
crystal-clear rivers,
and a colourful flora with a sea of flowers, in particular in spring.
Well signposted and romantic paths show a Portugal which seems not to have reached the 21. century. The charm of Portugal, which has persisted up to now, shows very clearly and is emphasized by the scent of rosemary, roses and thyme.
Not very far from our Quinta you will find crystal-clear rivers where you can make a picnic,
even "knights" love to be there!
The "Serra de Monchique" is rich of eucalyptus and cork-oak forests and sheep flocks graze on it's fertile lava stone. In this quiet and unspoilt landscape you will find the famous crystal-clear sources of "Caldas de Monchique".
Within 45 minutes by car, you reach a completely different part of the coast with rough climate, high waves, salty spray which reaches far into the country, and steep cliffs: the West coast.
Particularly impressive, and perfect for beach walkers, is the region around Vale Figueiras; walks depend on the tides. There, the Atlantic shows it's really rough character. Even in high season, you will find lonely beaches.
You can find all villages very easily. We give you a digital photo and a description of how to get there!
