Villa IN THE ALGARVE
Sights
Within short time by car you reach attractive sights :
e.g. towns like Silves, Faro, Lisbon and Sevilla, such as small villages like Caldas de Monchique, Alte, Paderne and Sagres.
Trips to the nearby villages offer a welcome change:
The sleepy village Silves, once splendid capital and residence of the Moorish Algarve with a well-preserved castle, fortress and a beautiful old town, is worth a visit.
You should also pay a visit to Faro: small, peaceful alleys, animated pedestrian precincts and a beautiful architecture await the visitor. The cathedral and the church square with its baroque buildings are particularly impressive. From the tower of the cathedral you have a fanstastic view of the sea, the habour and the city. A lot reminds of the times of the 19th century.
For many holiday-makers on the Algarve, Lisbon, which can easily be reached via the new motorway, is a destination worth seeing. During the last years there have been a lot of renovation work in the old town. Nevertheless this city didn't loose its charm.
Sevilla, too, can be reached within 2 hours. The new motorway connects the Algarve with the cultural centers of Spain. You can go to a concert in Sevilla in the evening and still drive back home, even if its a bit late. Let yourself show the beauty of the city and experience the charm of this South European historic city yourself.
Within short time - 10 to 20 minutes - you reach the small villages Paderne and Alte. Alte is famous for its numerous sources and events.
Paderne invites you to walk through the sleepy streets and alleys. It is located in pituresque countryside on a small hill with cypress trees.
Every holiday-maker visiting the Algarve should have seen the famous sources of Caldas de Monchique, which have already been mentioned in the Middle Age. Last year, the health spas were renovated and you will find an extensive range of medical applications.
There is a small regional firm, which produces high-quality etheral eucalyptus oil and distil lavender.
Within one hour you reach the town Sagres with its once famous naval college and the most western point of Europe.
You can find all villages very easily. We give you a digital photo and a description of how to get there!
